About Us
Our Story
Our 501(c)(3) initially formed in August of 2022 as a nonprofit foundation under the name of Long Live MC, in memory of Emmanuel "Manny" Christopher, who was tragically lost to suicide in January of 2021. Though initially founded to remember Manny, we feel a responsibility has been given to us to touch as many lives as possible. Therefore, in October of 2024, after just two years since our inception, Long Live MC made the transition to rename to Better South Dakota.

Our Mission
Better South Dakota's mission is to raise the importance of mental health awareness and suicide prevention in South Dakota.
We know that our mission will take work, so we have established three programs/initiatives under our main charitable purpose to help us strive for our goals on a daily basis.

Educational Counseling - to address counseling program needs at K-12 educational institutions, emphasizing early-intervention mental health work.

Scholarship Awards - specifically in honor of Manny, these awards are known as "The Emmanuel Christopher Memorial Scholarship" and are given to university students to aid their financial burden.

Church Events - knowing God is the primary source behind our work means consistently giving back to the Christian community through service events and church partnerships.
